Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Housing Lifeline LLC ("we," "us" or "our") collects, uses and protects information in connection with Eviction Navigator, including the website at www.housinglifelinellc.org and the Eviction Navigator software at app.housinglifelinellc.org (together, the "Service").
1. Information we collect
- Account information. Your name, company name, email address, phone number, mailing address, password (stored only in hashed form) and your saved electronic signature, if you choose to save one.
- Information you enter about your rentals. Property addresses, unit details, lease terms, rent amounts, ledger entries, and information about your tenants such as names, contact details, amounts owed and the facts of a case.
- Documents and files. Notices, filings, certificates of service, photos and other files you create or upload.
- Usage and technical information. Log data such as IP address, browser type, pages visited, and the date and time of activity, used to operate and secure the Service.
- Information you give us directly. Messages you send us by phone or email, for example when you contact sales or support.
2. How we use information
- To provide the Service, including building eviction plans, generating and reviewing documents, calculating dates, and sending reminders and emails you request.
- To provide customer support, including viewing your account when you ask us for help.
- To secure the Service, prevent fraud and misuse, and keep audit records of account activity.
- To communicate with you about your account, the Service and changes to these policies.
- To comply with legal obligations.
3. Artificial intelligence processing
Some features send the information needed for a task (for example, the property's location, the facts of a case and the text of a document) to a third-party artificial intelligence provider so that it can research rules, draft documents or answer your questions. We send only what the task requires, and we do not permit that information to be used to train the provider's models where the provider offers that option.
4. How we share information
We do not sell personal information. We share information only:
- With service providers that help us run the Service (such as hosting, email delivery and artificial intelligence providers), under obligations to protect it;
- With recipients you choose, such as a tenant you email a notice to;
- When required by law, subpoena or court order, or to protect the rights, property or safety of any person; and
- In connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, subject to this Policy.
5. Text messages
If you send us your phone number through our website and agree to receive texts, we use it to text you about your inquiry, including a demo login and follow-up from our team. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to stop receiving texts or HELP for help. We do not sell or share your phone number or text messaging consent with third parties for their marketing.
6. Data security
Information is transmitted over encrypted connections. Passwords are stored as salted hashes, sessions are protected, and access to customer data is limited to personnel who need it to provide the Service. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and as needed to provide the Service, resolve disputes and meet legal obligations. You may ask us to delete your account and associated information, subject to records we are required to keep.
8. Your choices
You can review and update your account information and the data you have entered at any time in the Service. To request a copy or deletion of your information, contact us using the details below.
9. Tenant information
When you enter information about your tenants, you are responsible for having a lawful basis to collect and use it. If a tenant contacts us about information a landlord has entered, we will refer the request to that landlord where appropriate.
10. Children
The Service is intended for adults and is not directed to children under 18.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. We will post the updated Policy here and change the effective date above. Material changes will be communicated through the Service or by email.
